Trick or Treat at Disneyland® Resort

By September 11, 2018Blog

In a follow up to our Disney® inspired Halloween costumes article published earlier this month, we want to help you make use of all the amazing costumes you have come up with by trick or treating at the Disneyland® Resort!

Yes, you heard it right. You can actually don a costume and trick or treat at the Disneyland® Resort, complete with candy and treats. It’s no trick, here’s all the details on trick or treating at Disneyland®.

Mickey’s Halloween Party

The fun begins at Mickey’s Halloween Party on select nights in September and October during an exclusive, after-hours event. This separate-ticket event features special entertainment, Disney® characters in Halloween attire and trick or treating for the entire family.

Mickey’s Halloween Party Tickets

If you wish to trick or treat at Disneyland®, you will need a special event ticket, as regular park admission does not apply. The after-hours party is on select nights in September and October and tickets must be purchased directly through Disneyland® Resort online, in person and over the phone at 714-781-4400.

Your Mickey’s Halloween Party ticket grants you admission to both California Adventure® and Disneyland® Parks up to three hours before the party officially begins. During that time, you’ll mingle with regular park guests, enjoy rides, attractions and entertainment.

Once the party officially begins, you’ll make your way to Disneyland® Park for an evening of fun with only Mickey’s Halloween Party attendees. Typically, the crowds are smaller during this private event.

Mickey’s Halloween Party Rides

Yes, the rides are open during Mickey’s Halloween Party! Since crowd levels are generally smaller than an average Disneyland® day, you can ride your favorite attractions with less wait times.

Along with classic favorites, you can also experience these Halloween-inspired attractions:

  • Haunted Mansion Holiday “inspired by the Walt Disney Pictures classic “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.” The seasonal attraction celebrates the collision between Halloween and Christmas as Jack Skellington offers his unique take on the holidays.” -Walt Disney Company

  • Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy “a re-imagining of the popular attraction. Guests on board the speeding Space Mountain vehicles are thrust into a ghostly galaxy where they are surrounded by eerie screams, sound effects and music. Spine-chilling spirits pop out of the darkness, appearing to reach out and menace the space travelers.” -Walt Disney Company

HALLOWEEN TIME CHARACTERS (ANAHEIM, Calif.) – Along Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure park, guests will enjoy Halloween decorations in store windows and in Carthay Circle, they’ll see a 10-foot-tall statue of the Headless Horseman, holding up his jack-o-lantern head to the sky. Mickey and his friends also will be in the area, donning their period-appropriate Halloween costumes, such as a bat for Mickey Mouse, a ghost for Goofy and a witch for Daisy Duck – all in playful fun, of course. Mickey’s Halloween Party Entertainment

In addition to rides and attractions, entertainment is a big player at Mickey’s Halloween Party. Guests in attendance can experience The Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow leading the “Frightfully Fun Parade.” You might recognize The Headless Horseman from the Disney® classic, “The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad” as he rides down Main Street, U.S.A. on a black horse to match. The parade also features Vamprina, Jack Skellington and a procession of hitchhiking ghosts from the legendary Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland® park.

After a night or trick or treating, be sure to catch the Halloween Party exclusive, “Halloween Screams” firework display show hosted by none other than Jack Skellington.

We hope to see you at Grand Legacy At the Park for a ghoulishly-good time during Mickey’s Halloween Party or any time at the Disneyland® Resort! Our door is always open and we’re steps away from all the Disney® magic in Anaheim, California.
